The Open

Mayfield on pole - hot racing on Saturday night,
The winner will move on to the 30 lap fight.
Cars go 3&4 wide - as the green flag falls,
Jeremy pulls away - then Carl Long is in the wall.

Yellow laps count - they start 2 wide in a stack,
Jeremy again takes off - quickly ½ way on the track.
He takes checkered - moving on his Dodge machine,
Now we are moving on to another sweet sixteen.

No Bull Sprint

Most went pitting - some took 2, and some four,
Jeff Green led then Newman's pedal to the floor!
Scary close moments - then they stretch single file,
Newman drives off to win - followed by sweet cakes Kyle.

THE WINSTON

"Dubbya" called the start to engines and wheels,
It's survival of the fastest - for ¾ of a mil!!
Kenseth on pole - Michael Waltrip on his side,
Kenseth kept the lead until the Steve Park slide.

Again a double file restart - up front the # 6.
Ward tapped Sterling & several were caught in the mix.
Picked up Sterling, Hamilton, Rusty, and DJ,
Right as they take green - several hit their pit bay.

Space lean in the pits - it's now up to the crews,
Jeff Burton stayed out - 'til the white flag flew.
Pulling a trick - had only 100 yards to go,
He still came in 2nd - behind Rookie Johnson's Lowes.

Segment 2

Seven are gone - now it's 20 cars for 30 laps,
Johnson is on the inside as the green flag flaps.
Yellow quickly flying as Elliot Saddler spun,
After clean up - Jimmy Johnson is still # 1.

Junior scrapes the wall - Martin's engine broke,
Going back to green - the 18 and 19 choke!
Best fight is for the bubble - gotta be in the top ten,
Johnson holds 'em off - and gets the win again!

Segment 3

A 20 lap finale - fans vote all 10 turn around,
Stewart and Robby Gordon lead as green falls down.
Tony pulls away - but then Newman goes by,
With good clean air - he starts to fly!

From the transfer position - winning is hard,
Robby gets tapped - Jimmy flies the yellow card.
NASCAR didn't like restart - it's another green flag,
Junior on his tail - as Newman gets the money bag!
