Rockingham - Subway 400 - 02/24/02

Poling the Rockj is Craven's Tide machine,
Got some bumping and banging 1st laps under green.
1st yellow flying for Nemechek's K-Mart
Everyone going in - getting tires is smart.

Craven out 1st - green's again in the air,
Mikey's front is trashed - by hitting Labonte's deniair
No caution out - under green they circle 'round
Tires now worn - most are pit bound.

After pit cycle - Jeff Green is the leader,
Everyone checks up as Ward is a wall beather.
Again no caution & up front goes DJ,
2nd caution waving - leader's engine's gone away.

Pit road busy - all wanting new tires,
Green grings trouble & there's a car on fire!
Many got mangled - long pit stops
Only 2 didn't pit - Putting Sterling on top.

With fresh tires - Jeff Green blows by,
Then, cause of Mikey - the 4th caution does fly.
Pits got crazy - Jeff Gordon got spun
After the "quicky" caution - Kennseth's number one.

Jeff Green takes command just after half-way
Then it's Sterling - 'til 5th caution of the day.
Rudd takes over - then it's another crash
Now his engine won't fire & the field goes pass.

A scary #6 - but most got through
Kenseth now leading as the restart flag flew.
Todd Bodine brings caution - it's another turn to spin
Kenseth out first - Jimmy throws green again.

Long green run - then flying is caution 8,
Last adjustments & fuel - time's getting late.
Kenseth beats Sterling to the pit road line
Front 5 pull away - as the laps unwind.

Skinner is smoking - yellow number 9 flies
Green stays out - not sure that is wise!s
Two late spins bring debris on the track
Kenseth wins under caution - green never came back!
