FONTANA, CALIFORNIA NAPA Auto Parts 500 4/28/02

Ryan Newman got the pole - he's Rusty's protégé,
It's boogity boogity time down near L.A.
First caution flying - Shawna spanked her rear end,
Bobby Labonte comes back out - as the leaders come in.

After clean up for oil and a stray catch can,
Johnson the leader as we get green from the flagman.
Saddler makes a save - he had a tire go down,
Staying in a long green - it's now time for pit rounds.

Busch pulls away - putting the field laps behind,
It's time for tires and gas - as
half the laps unwind.
Stewart dives in - his throttle linkage broke,
The poor Joe Gibbs team - today has choked.

Busch takes command - until caution 2 flies high,
Craven stuck on the wall - done is team Tide.
DJ beats Kurt off - great work by his crew,
Then Kenseth tags the wall and the 3rd yellow flew.

All leaders come in - their tanks need topping off,
Some took tires and gas - but some didn't even stop!
Blaney on point and continues to set the pace,
Jeremy's car still now - 4th caution of the race.

DJ got out 1st - he's the leader of the pack,
Yates power shining - they're one-two on the track.
With about 30 to go - it's now dueling young guns,
Busch and Johnson fighting - as several got spun.

Harvick was dropping down - went into Junior's path,
Bill Elliot and Junior were the victims of his wrath.
Pits now open - as we go through a long yellow,
Some took on 2 - but for others it's gas and go!

Elliot leads 'em to the green - but here's the 48,
He takes over to try to decide his fate.
The rookie holds 'em off - crossing the line,
In his 13th ever start - wins for the first time!
