CHARLOTTE, NC UAW 500 09/13/02

Lined up by points at Lowes Motor Speedway,
Finally got going after a 3 hour rain delay.
Green cam with yellow for several more laps,
Then a full green - Tony opens the gap!

Johnson takes over - starts putting some laps down,
After a long green run - all cars are pit bound.
Several shuffle around & trade out the lead,
Yellow now is flying - as Elliot spreads debris.

Again green flies - we hear the engines roar,
But quickly a caution - Hermie spins in turn 4.
Kenseth still leading - we go green again,
Bobby Labonte takes over - he didn't go in.

Bobby still leading as we come to ½ way,
A long green run brings 'em to pit bays.
A cut front tire puts Rudd in the wall,
Leaders want adjustments - it's into their pit stalls.

McMurry the leader - Sterling's replacement on top,
Then Todd Bodine is in the grass and needs a mop!
Picked up 10 more - bringing a long clean-up,
Taking the restart as leader - it's still the pup!

Thru a long green - they go in for tires and gas,
McMurry still on top after the pit cycle pass.
10 laps to go - day has turned into night,
In only his 2nd race - winning is Jamie's Coors Light.
