Jeff Gordon on pole for Thunder Valley at night,
Green flag falls and space becomes tight!
Jr. got the jump & almost immediately a spin,
Another short green and yellow flies again!

Robby Gordon spins - flying is caution three,
Then he spins the 32 ride of Ricky.
Still it's Jr. - even after some pit,
Fifth caution flying - as Saddler gets hit.

Junior still leading through a long green,
All of a sudden to lead goes the Dupont machine!
All leaders go pitting as sixth caution waves,
Jeff Gordon still leading - as several make good saves.

Debris causes the 7th - still in control the 24,
But right at ½ way - Jr. slides by his door.
Jr. goes high - Gordon comes right back,
Park goes around - 8th caution over the track.

Gordon takes green as DJ taps Mayfield,
They cause a mess & stack up the field.
Green again in air - Gordon still setting the pace,
Then Craven and Jeff Green bring 10th of the race.

Martin, Newman and Texas Terry cause 11th yellow,
Hut smacks hard - and finally Kyle goes below.
Leader still Gordon - until Casey's knocked around,
Immediately another crash - 14th yellow falls down.

Again it was Robby - he tapped Johnson in the rear,
Benson restart leader - but then Busch pulled clear.
Another quick caution - Jr. tapped Ward's cat,
Tempers are flying as cars do the Bristol splat!

Restart green flies - Busch still sits on top,
But then Kenseth and Harvick gave him the drop!
With fresher tires - Rusty gives the bump and run,
He passes Harvick and shoots to number 1.

Rusty pulls away - Jeff Gordon is right behind,
Both cars able to drive the yellow line!
Neither of these drivers have won in awhile,
Jeff passes Rusty - takes checkered with a smile!
