Gordon and Jarrett tied as the come to the line.
They go 3 and 4 wide - as the green flew,
Saddler slowed and Buckshot spun too.

Rudd takes the lead - then comes the 24,
After a long green - it's pit stops galore.
As they cycle through - Jeff's up front again,
Led all the way 'till Texas Terry lost his engine.

Rudd won the race - off the pit road,
But back at the line - it's again the rainbow!
Another long green - Jeff leads to ½ way,
Leaders going in - the tires are going away.

Adjustments for most as they're pit stop bound,
Back behind Gordon - they keep shuffling round.
Jeff short pits - then Kyle's out of gas,
Some caught in the pits - as Rudd goes pass.

Who's gonna pit - strategies are being made,
Gordon again out front - as the green waves.
Lap cars in the way - there's a big scramble,
So to the garage the 22, 99, 88, and 4 ramble.

Several got laps back - during caution # 3,
Then a quick yellow - as DJ spreads debris.
Most need gas - so leaders go pittin',
As restart waves - leader now Benson.

Sparks are flying - Busch's tire rocks and rolls,
Crosses the start finish - as the pit bell tolls.
Junior and others stay out as the green flies,
Got to beware of traffic and play it wise!

Junior still leading - as others bang and bump,
Only Bobby Labonte - might can catch up.
Junior and Bobby tap and then smack,
But Bobby gets first win this year in his Pontiac.
