Gordon is flaming on the Michigan pole,

Down through the turns they slip slide.

Second caution - Busch tapped his rear end,

Flying green - Junior passes Jeff with a bite,

Gordon again stayed out - getting green from Jimmy,
Benson now flying - goes by Jeff doing a shimmy.
Caution 4 flying - a blown tire for Bodine,
After all go pitting - Earnhardt takes green at the line.

Gordon again shoots by and leads 'til 5th yellow,
Then Saddler on the bottom has a left front blow.
Pits get busy - will teams take two or four?
Gordon again tops - as the engines start to roar.

With Sterling on his tail - Jeff leads at ½ way,
Finally Marlin passed as green pits got underway.
Kennseth took the lead as they cycled through,
Again Gordon up front - a tribute to his crew.

Teams calculating their fuel can weight,
Then a surprise yellow for Junior's # 8.
Gordon and Rudd make a 2nd pit stop,
As green falls - Sterling's Dodge sits on top.

Tons of traffic - they're all over the place,
It's a guessing game who'll win this race!
Oh! Andretti and Pressley go spinning round,
Several in the back now are pit stop bound.

Marlin and Gordon now are nose to tail,
Gordon takes lead as 6th yellow fell.
Shawna the culprit - then back to speed,
