Starting by points - due to rain at Dover,
A concrete Monster Mile with banking all over!
Barely a lap until the first yellow flew,
Picked up Ray's Dodges, Mikey, Ken & Nadeau.

Jeff Gordon leading - to the restart green,
A quick yellow again - the corners are lean.
Several more gone - a bunch are scrap metal,
Again at restart Jeff punches the gas pedal.

Mandated by NASCAR - they throw the yellow,
Crews looking at tires - pits anything but mellow!
A loose tire gets Benson - then bounces around,
Rainbow 24 out first - drivers are kickin' it down.

Beating and banging through a long green run,
Needing tires and gas - green pits have begun.
What a great save as Junior brings # 4,
All lead lappers in - then a restart door to door.

Again Gordon checks out and leads to ½ way,
Course still on his rear is the 88 of DJ.
As Stewart catches up - it's green pits again,
Cars on the move - some are closing in.

2 - 5 change up - but Jeff's still on top,
With about 50 to go - it's more pit stops.
Hornaday spins and 5th yellow waves,
Cars all scattered - several had great saves.

Dupont colors still flying - as some go to pit,
Jeff stayed out - but doesn't slow a bit.
He takes the checkered - with Park on his rear,
Jeff and Team Hendrix - second win of the year!
