Junior back to point - but here comes the Rainbow,
A long green run brings pits - tanks are getting low.
2nd caution flying - all dive in for pit stops,
Close call on pit lane - then Jr. and Tony are tops.

Several get their laps back - as 3rd yellow flew,
Junior backed off - as Blaney's engine blew.
Long clean-up for oil - speedy dry everywhere,
Junior wiggles through and gives us all a scare!

He lets off the throttle - but comes right back,
Takes lead again - through ½ way on the track.
All need tires and gas - it's another round of pits,
Then Spencer blows a tire and takes a hard hit!

Wanting 4 fresh ones - all teams decide to go in,
As restart green flies - Junior's up front again!
Through a long green - Nadeau is on his tail,
Finally made the pass - despite Jr. giving him hell!

Rudd tags the wall - had a tire going down,
Some were heading in - but then circled round.
Double file restart scare - Nemecheck's off the pace,
Jr. checks out again - all others can only chase.

Three fight for lead - here come the 18 and 25,
Diving high and low - they juke and jive!
Side by side - Labonte now leads and pulls away,
Nadeau catches Bobby and passes to his dismay.

Jerry makes a gap - looks like he had it in the bag,
But runs out of fuel - coming to the checkered flag.
Bobby Labonte passes him - spoiling his great run,
As Jeff Gordon gets 4th championship in 2001.
