LOUDON, NH - MBNA 300 - 9/17/00

New restrictor plates at Loudon today,
Last race on TNN - 300 from MBNA.
Jeff Burton fastest - he has the pole,
It's all a guessing game - cuz it is cold!

Burton checks out - a long green bound,
Nadue following - as several go laps down.
Scott Pruett a spinner - he slams his Tide,
Now after pits - leader still the Exide.

Jeff Burton only leader to the 1-5-0,
No one even close - he gets the ½ way dough.
Right at 200 - a caution out for debris,
Donut for Burton - from the number 3.

Mayfield got his lap back - crossing the line,
Of course out front - is still the 99.
After clean-up - the yellow flies again,
Tight in the pack, several tag and spin.

Burton STILL leading - it's back to green,
Some trade paint - as space is lean.
Elliot tries to juke, but Jr. was there,
Now 4th caution flies in the air.

Pace car in - the green does fly,
Burton pulls away - waving goodbye!
There's fighting further back in the pack,
With less than 25 - another caution on the track.

Double file line up on the restart,
Again beside Burton, sits Earnhardt.
Big collision - it's a smash 'em up derby,
Jr., Ward, Jerry, and Rick all go topsy turvy.

Red flag thrown to clean up the metal,
Single file restart - all stand on the petal.
Burton challenged, but he led from lap one,
Took the checkered and yellow as Sterling spun.
