Indy - Brickyard 400 - 8/5/00

What a surprise for the Indy pole,
Ricky Rudd and the DW of ole!
First yellow out - Skinner gave Martin a tap,
But Mikey not innocent - in the mishap.

Mast also tapped by Gordon's Woodstock,
Now to the pits all the drivers flock.
On restart - top's is Rusty Miller Lite,
Then Jerry Nadue wins the fight.

On the apron sits Andretti's Cherios,
Going into three his right front blows.
Rusty leads 'em down to the ½ way,
Then all decide to visit their pit bay.

Long green for Rusty - Elliot's on the move,
Time again for pits - all fall out the groove.
Threat of rain a good possibility,
The fight up front still Rusty and Labonte.

Nadue and Elliot not too far behind,
As the lap count starts to unwind.
Finally Labonte shoots on by,
Pulls away and starts to fly.

Sky getting dark - the clouds roll in,
Laps clicking down to the end.
Bobby Labonte not only has point's lead,
Gets the checkered and the Brickyard deed.
