Bristol, TN Goody's Headache 500 - 8/22/98

Rusty on the pole - Elvis on his side,
Then Rudd led - a flowing orange tide.
Morgan spun 'round - 1st yellow flew,
Leaders kept switchin' - a swirl of hue!

2nd caution - OH Nemechek blew a tire,
Back in the pits - Rusty's brakes on fire!!
Down goes Dick Trickle - caution # 3,
Roarin' again - until a spin by Earnie!

Caution 4 - pit crews are ill
Several are mad - 'specially Steve Meile!
On the backstretch - now a parking lot,
Mayfield took ½ way - got the money pot!

Schrader lifts Benson - time for a pit,
Scramble to the line - real tight fit!
Setzer in the wall - has a hot seat,
Back to green - pushing pedals under feet!

Caution for Mikey - it's number 9,
Ten comes quickly - it's pittin' time!
'Bout 100 to go - turn 3 has a slam,
Pit road now open - it's a traffic jam!

Number 12 - Mast spews water everywhere,
Then Mayfield spins - there's tension in the air!
Close contact - trading donuts for fun,
All check up - then the 28 spun.

Nadue pops the wall - really really hard,
It's time now to play all the cards!
White flag waves - it's Mark's #5
To Victory lane - his will to survive!
